FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                                     November 13, 2014
(Appleton, WI)  U.S. Oil and Ruan Transportation Management Systems have announced a joint agreement to build a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station in Des Moines, Iowa. The station will be located at 120 NE Broadway Avenue.

U.S Oil currently has 38 GAIN® Clean Fuel stations open or under construction across the country. The rapidly expanding national network of compressed natural gas stations offers regional and national carriers an environmentally-friendly, lower cost fueling option for fleets. A Wisconsin-based company, U.S. Oil facilities serve carriers located across the U.S., with a strategic goal of having more than 100 CNG stations open within the next two years.

“This is another great location for us,” said Bill Renz, general manager for GAIN® Clean Fuel. “We're developing a network of CNG stations along major carrier routes that create significant benefit for customers and meet a growing need in the industry. We believe CNG satisfies a desire by carriers who want to leverage the savings and environmental benefits of CNG over diesel fuel," Renz explained.

Ruan, an industry leader in contract carriage and supply chain solutions, operates 260 locations nationwide. It serves a wide variety of customers including grocery, food processing, retail, dairy, metals and manufacturing companies. Ruan is a member of the Environmental Protection Agency's Smartway Transport partnership, which works to increase efficiency and reduce greenhouse gases in the freight carrier industry.

“This is a significant next step forward for our company,” said Ruan’s CEO Steve Chapman. “CNG use in the dedicated contract carriage industry is growing, and this not only gives us a competitive advantage by offering an additional lower cost fueling choice, it helps us meet our sustainability goals. We believe it's more than just good business, it’s a commitment to making our trucking operations part of the equation when it comes to the stewardship of the environment." Ruan currently has 85 CNG tractors in the Midwest with plans to expand to additional units where there is a fit for CNG.

In the past three months, U.S. Oil has celebrated the grand opening of three GAIN stations in Ohio, Colorado and Wisconsin. Each of these stations is also open for use by other companies and the general public. A complete list of GAIN® Clean Fuel stations can be found at www.gainfuel.com.

CNG is a lower cost option to diesel fuel, offering a savings of more than $2 per gallon for fleets converting to CNG. With lower emissions, CNG also helps carriers meet their "Green" initiatives. CNG is produced domestically which reduces the impact of fluctuations in the price of oil. “CNG gives carriers the ability to more easily control fuel costs for their operations,” Renz said.
